First of all, pity your poor forced -air ductwork system! Because it is so reliable, it is easily the most neglected part of the average home’s indoor comfort components. Normally that’s okay, but you probably suspect your health and well-being will eventually suffer from dirty, dusty, even moldy ducts forcing air though your rooms. Meanwhile, your loyal ducts just keep on pumping, never complaining.
Dirt and other foreign matter are naturally drawn through your intake vents as the seasons pass. Items that shouldn’t get into your ducts inevitably end up there: dirty snow and mud, dead bugs, mice, cobwebs, leaves, of course pet hair by the ton, and yes, decomposing kid’s food is also common! Turns out your little angels really do put veggies in the vents.
None of this will kill you, but it could make you sick, and it will almost certainly aggravate any existing respiratory condition. Even if that doesn’t happen, who doesn’t naturally want to breath fresh air where they live? A thorough professional cleaning is the right answer.
Maybe you’ve noticed a lot, and we mean A LOT of homeowners have logged complaints with the BBB all over the province of Ontario about duct cleaners. And the lower the price, the more complainants stating it ended up being just too good to be true.
When these ‘deals’ turn out to be customer-funded upselling presentations from a company who knows the ‘real’ labour for the job actually costs triple what was advertised, people feel cheated, because they were. They end up fighting a hopeless battle for a refund. But we think these homeowners are lucky! They escaped without damage.
There is no such thing as a ‘lite’ , a ‘halfway’, or dare we say ‘half-fast’ duct cleaning. Professional duct cleaners know there are only two ways to do this job: the right way and the wrong way.
